River City Folk Monday uplinks


River City Folk is now self distributed, through PRX and other sources, to around 150 radio stations nation wide. Radio Stations that carry River City Folk programming usually broadcast these programs 3-4 days before or 7- 10 days after the date listed. Please check with your local radio station for an exact time and date.
River City Folk is also heard four times weekly on the
XM satellite network, though the perfomances are in a different order than below that XM determines.

July 12  Dave Carter-Tracy Grammar ( special archive program-only aired once previously in 2001)
Before Dave’s untimely death in 2002, he and his partner Tracy Grammer recorded two programs for “River City Folk”  This program has been only been heard once before,  shortly before the release of their album “Drum Hat Bhudda”

July 19 Sig Paulson
A new program with Salem Oregon’s whimsical troubadour. Sig’s voice is a like a warm breeze on a cool day, getting your attention and making you think, or laugh, or a combination of both!

July 25  Anne Weiss # 1
Anne is  a much beloved blues chanteuse from the Pacific Northwest.  Her vocals and original songs are powerful and immediate.

August 2 Bill Staines
An archive RCF program by one of the most beloved Folksingers in America.  Among Bill’s best known songs is  “Roseville Fair”,  covered by dozens of artists on record over the decades

August 9  Arianne Lydon
From the RCF archives, a program with an artist who uses harp and 12 string guitar to summon mystical images of romance and place.

August 16   Kate and Bill Isles
With a sense of humor and great harmonies, Bill and Kate Isles travel from Duluth, Minnesota to give us an extra helping of the foibles of romance and a sense of what life is in the North Country.

August 23  Dave Nachmanoff
A great guitarist as well as a facile songwriter, Dave has toured as a solo act and also accompanied such acts as Al Stewart.

August  30   Laurie McClain
Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee these days, Laurie McClain has made an impact wherever she travels with her unforgettable voice and interesting song stylings.   Her love for the music, and for her audiences, shine through every performance.

September 6  Tillers Folly (3)
From playing at the “Canada Day” celebrations in Ottawa in front of 200,000 people, to being ambassadors of their native British Columbia through song, at festivals and on nationwide television, “Tillers Folly” are a true Canadian treasure.

September 13  Heather Styka (2)
Alternating between guitar and piano, Heather Styka is one of the more original of the many contemporary singer/songwriters touring the US.  Utilizing guitar tunings and unique tonal variations, she paints landscapes and relationships in her well though out compositions.

September 27    John Walker  (new)  A new program with John Walker, the first performer to be featured on the national edition of “River City Folk”.  John maintains his country blues integrity, and hearing a set of songs from him is like having aged whiskey with an old friend.

RCF10-43 Chuck McCabe# 2  (memorial program)
California’s Chuck McCabe was an important part of the west coast USA music scene for over 40 years.  From recording many of his own albums, writing hundreds of songs, to his work with the Napa Valley Folk Festival and sisters Folk Festival, he truly touched thousand of lives with his both whimsical and serious songs.  He passed away in July of 2010; this program was recorded in Portland, Oregon in 2009

Steve Hansen is an exceptional musician on a variety of instruments, and has worked on the road with CW McCall and many others.  Jim Pipher is a Lincoln, Nebraska singer/songwriter with equally strong credentials.  Together they paint musical landscapes of Nebraska towns and personages from another age, with complexity and beauty.

The great English Pub ballads and work songs, along with her own heartfelt compostions.

RCF10-48 Brad Colerick/Tom Corbett
Brad Colerick calls Los Angeles home these days,  and continues to write exquisitely descriptive songs on geography and the folks he has met along his musical journey.

He is joined by his friend, fine songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tom Corbett, who
has a dynamic new album being released this autumn. Brad and Tom together are
truly an virtuostic duo, and add grace and color to each others wonderful songs.
